Outlook 2013 Search

Hi every one i have an issue. The search by subject can't find email if i typing a part of subject.

For example : The full subject of some email is : PO1511003488

I typed just four last digits (3488) in the search field, and get "we couldn't find what you were looking for".

If i type all the subject its going fine.

In outlook 2010 its was working fine. What can i do to enable it in 2013 outlook ?

Thanks in ahead.

Hi,

The index of Outlook Instant Search is word-based only. We can only search for a partial string if we know the beginning of that string. It won't return the correct results if we only type the end or middle part of the string in instant search.

If you want to search for a partial string, you will need to use Advanced Find feature. To do this, please follow the steps below:

1. In Outlook, press Ctrl + Shift + F to open the Advanced Find.

2. Switch to Advanced tab.

3. Define criteria like this:

Field: Subject

Condition: contains

Value: 3488

4. Click Add to List button.

5. Click Find Now button.

Hope this helps.
