Outlook 2013 PST Errors every day

Hello

After upgrading to Outlook 2013 I get Send/Receive and PST file errors every day. I can repair the PST file and send/receive OK.

Next day same problem.

I have one POP3 email account which has worked with all versions of Outlook for maybe 15 years no problem.

These are the PST file errors (there are loads of these):-

>>

??BBT entry (2AF4CC4) has different refcount in RBT (6 vs 3)

??Couldn't find BBT entry in the RBT (2E43708)

Failed to add row to the FLT, RowID = 7F

<<

The only thing I can think of which is different is that I have moved my Calendar to Outlook.com so I can sync with my Windows 8 Phone. This requires adding a new Exchange Active Sync Account for the Outlook.com Calendar.

I have seen a post which says that Active Sync accounts are not compatible with PST files so I should use the Hotmail Connector. But the Hotmail connector does not work with Outlook 2013.

Please advise.

Yes, Outlook 2013 abandons Hotmail connector but only support EAS profile for live account.

If the scanpst.exe tool would not fix the pst file. To avoid the worse event future, I suggest we create a new PST file in the local machine and move all of the items from the currect one to the new one.

Hi Tony

OK I have created a new data file for the default account by going to File/Account Settings highlighting the default account and clicking Change Folder/New Outlook Data File. I called the new file Outlook2013.pst. I will let you know what happens.

First problem - my rules are moving stuff to the old pst file folders.

Please point me to a procedure for seamlessly moving EVERYTHING to a new PST file in Outlook 2013.

PS: I see that this PST corruption problem in Outlook 2013 is all over the internet forums at the moment.

Rules are stored in the PST, if the previous one is healthy, we can go to Home > Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts > Options to export them to an RWZ file.

Also export names on the safe and blocked senders lists if necessary.

BTW, what's going on after the previous PST file fixed by Scanpst.exe tool?

Thanks.

Cheers,

Hi Tony

When the previous PST file was scanned and fixed it worked for a few send/receive cycles, the I got errors again. I have SCANPST pinned to Start because I had to run it all the time.

I created a new PST file then Archived everything over 1 day old to Archive.pst. Archive.pst then required a repair which has never happened before.

Now Outlook seems to be working OK using the new PST file.

I am having a very similar problem where running scanpst.exe on either my POP3 .pst file or my .ost file for my IMAP account never gets to a clean pass. Ultimately it gets to a message which says words to the effect that minor inconsistencies were found repairing is optional. But there is no repair button to click on.

Removing and recreating the profile doesn't help.

Also, please note that the process of deleting and creating a new profile is not painless because of the rules. Yes, you can export the rules for the IMAP account, and import the rules when you re-create it, but for all the rules that move messages to other folders, you have to manually fix the target folder field for each rule.

Hi Tony

Major concerns I'm afraid:

PST and OST file problems, missing Categories and IMAP sync incompatibilities with various third party servers (GMail, Smarter Mail etc..) mean that I will not be able to recommend upgrade to Office 2013 to my customers.

Please let me know when these issues have been resolved by Microsoft

You mean aside from the concerns and questions already raised in this thread?:

a> PST errors.

b> Hotmail connector not working with Outlook 2013

c> scanpst not working on a pst file.

d> rules moving data in a way the user does not want

e> IMAP sync issues

Microsoft - you make me laugh.

I also have the same issue as everyone else. I'm running Outlook 2013 connected to Gmail (IMAP/SMTP) on a Windows 7 x64 system. It quickly accumulates thousands (no joke) of sync issues, all of which say the exact same thing, which isn't even close to an error message. It's just a "sync completed" message. I to connect to Gmail via m.google.com, which on my iPhone I can connect as MS Exchange, but not from Outlook 2013.

Outlook 2013 doesn't work with GMail

Microsoft developers are collecting the feedback from our customers and try their best to fix it. And hope it would be resolved in next update/service package release. Thanks.

It did not: I have the same problem. Scanpst does not repair files. I cannot use Outlook 2013 anymore. It immediately hangs when I launch it, even in safe mode. I am very disappointed by Office 2013. It has hundreds problems :(
