Outlook 2013 Not Syncing with Bravenet Properly

My Email account is hosted by Bravenet.com, but I use Outlook 2013 to view and respond to emails.  This has been working perfectly until recently, but now it won't sync properly.

Outlook is receiving all emails correctly, however when I move emails to other folders it isent.

In Outlook - if i move an email to another folder, if deletes the email from the Inbox, and shows it in the correct folder that it has been moved to.  However when I go into Bravenet.  The email is still in the Inbox.  But when I go into the folder that the email was moved to, it is also in there!

I contacted Bravenet and they believe it is a Microsoft Outlook issue not theres!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hello AAlexandra

It seems like your outlook email client is configured using pop3 protocol. If it is then reconfig it using imap protocol to achieve the results you are looking for.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

I agree with Mark35UK that we need to know the account type that you have configured in Outlook.

Check the account type from Outlook 2013: FILE -> Info -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> Under E-mail tab, find the account name and see what the "Type" it is.

For POP accounts, Outlook only downloads the emails from the mail server and displays everything in Inbox, the change in the local Outlook client won't reflect to the mail server.

For IMAP accounts, the emails and folders are always synced between Outlook and the mail server, in your scenario if you haven't chosen IMAP for your account, please consider it.

Dear Mark35UK and Melon

Thanks for your responses.  I have checked and in Outlook the setting are for IMAP with both the Income and outgoing Servers being set to mail.bravehost.com.  And then in the Advanced settings Purge Items when switching folders while online is ticked.

In Bravenet the only settings that I can see have it set for "SSL" (I contacted Bravenet and they told me that I should set them to SSL).

Don't suppose you have any other ideas as to what I can check?  It is just ever so annoying - at the moment I have to log into my bravenet account at the end of each day and move the emails out of my inbox!!

Thanks for your help

Best wishes

Alexandra

Me again!

And the plot thickens!

In Outlook I have just sent the Test Account email (you know the email that they send to check all set up correctly).  Well it says that the email has been sent, but does not appear in either Outlook or Bravenet!

Urg, I am so confused!

Any hep and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Alexandra

Hi Alexandra! I too, am having a problem vis a vis outlook 2013 and Bravenet. My Bravenet account was inadvertently voided two weeks ago, has been corrected and now we are unable to receive any messages from Bravenet on Outlook 2013. We have followed Bravenet's instructions, have set the two message accounts to SSL  with IMAP port to 993. No error messages. But...no messages at all come in! If you solve your problem,we would appreciate hearing from you as to what was done to correct the problem. Your problem and ours seem somewhat similar. Thanks!!

Hi,

Do you have any anti virus integration with Outlook? Such as "Scan emails" feature? If yes, disable it and check the result.

As you both mentioned Bravenet, do you have any other account in Outlook? Does the issue persist with other accounts?
