Outlook 2013 Mailbox Size Error

I am using outlook and keep getting the message that my mailbox is full. I have folders set up under my inbox in order to sort them, but I have done the archive to items from 3 months ago and I still keep getting the message. I had the same set up in Outlook 2010 but once I archived the message went away. My mailbox size in 600 MB. Is there something else I should do, or is this a problem on the new Outlook?

Are you running Exchange and which version if you are. If so did you check the quota limit in Exchange?

It is exchange, but don't know how to check the version. My mailbox limit is 600MB, but I am under that once I archive.

Hi,

You can check the mailbox size in Outlook 2013 from:

FILE -> Info -> Cleanup Tools -> Mailbox Cleanup -> View Mailbox Size.

You can compare the local data and server data from the Folder Size window then.

By the way, please let me know what the message it is to say the mailbox is full, so that I can do more research based on it.

Here is what my local size is 611 MB and server size is the same. The message is: Your mailbox is almost full.

Please reduce your mailbox size. Delete any items you don't need from your mailbox and empty your Deleted Items folder.

Hi,

Based on the information above, your mailbox has reached its size limit, that's why you get the message.

As you mentioned archive, make sure you have successfully archived the items into a separate .pst file, this is an efficient method to reduce the mailbox size.

The other method, extend your mailbox size limit, we will need to do this on the Exchange, to know more about how, I suggest you post the question in the Exchange Forum:
