Outlook 2013 Freezes and Crashes when printing some emails with embedded images.
Have a user where she is trying to print to a .pdf file. I tried clean startup and start outlook in safe mode. Even with doing both of these it still freezes up when trying to print to a file. It says contacting printer and then freezes. I have tried a repair on Office but it didn't work. I found out that it was embedded images that was causing the problem, but can't seem to fix the problem. Is there a setting that I'm missing that will fix the issue.

Hi Wilson,

By making changes in OutlPrnt file, you can resolve this kind of printing issues in Outlook.

Microsoft Outlook 2013 has its own settings for printing style in a particular file known as OutlPrnt.  The OutlPrnt file is present in the hidden folder, but you can access directly by following given path in the address bar on your computer.

Path: drive:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Close MS-Outlook completely and change the name of OutlPrnt to .old.

Note: In the worst case, you can take help of the inbuilt utility of Microsoft called scanpst.exe.

Thanks

Having same issue with Samsung Multi Function Black and White Laser printer.  Windows 8 and Lenovo Laptop.  The quick print for embedded emails has worked.  Printing attachments appears to work.  I don't know if this model is a PCL6 printer but will call Samsung to find out.  If anyone comes up with a permanent solution, I'm all ears (well and eyes so I can read your post ;)
