Outlook 2013 Exchange ActiveSync not syncing all email with Outlook.com

Greetings,

  • I have a custom domain hosted on http://domains.live.com
  • Outlook.com is my pseudo-exchange server
  • Outlook 2013 is synced via Exchange ActiveSync on a Win 8.1 platform

I noticed that emails that were in my Outlook.com account were not in Outlook 2013.  I really took notice of this at the end of January 2014.  However, the problem existed prior to this as the message count between both Outlook.com and Outlook 2013 was never the same since I implimented this setup in early 2013.  The main difference in January was that very current emails started not appearing in Outlook 2013 which caught my attention.  For example, I would read 5-10 emails on my EAS synced Android device in the morning and later 1-2 emails would be missing in Outlook 2013.  Then I started paying attention.  I would have Outlook.com in a browser side-by-side with Outlook 2013.  Occasionally a new email would come in Outlook.com and it would never appear in Outlook 2013.

Initially, I moved all of my 30,000+ emails off to a local PST in Outlook 2013 (which took quite awhile) and I found that some 400 emails remained in Outlook.com.  I setup a new profile in Outlook 2013 and the 400 emails synced.  I then restored about 4,000 of the most current emails (which I eventually figured out can now only be done via IMAP! But I will save that rant for another day).

I have since deleted my profile and recreated it 4 times, most recently March 4th.  The problem still remains.  In fact when I most recently recreated my profile 3 items didn't sync right from the get go.  As of this morning there are now 4 items missing in Outlook 2013.

Only Outlook 2013 via EAS seems to be a problem.  All of my other methods and devices for accessing Outlook.com are working correctly...

  • Outlook 2013 via IMAP - No problems all email is synced
  • Win 8.1 Mail app via EAS - No problems all email is synced
  • Android 4.3 via EAS - No problems all email is synced
  • iOS 7.0.6 Mail app via EAS - No problems all email is synced

I have read in another post that Outlook.com is the problem and the dev team had released an update in February 2014 that addressed this problem.  A least for me this fix is not working.  Although my experience is only anecdotal, it would seem the new implementation of EAS in Outlook 2013 is at fault.  Just my 2 cents.

Please help me to find a solution to fix this issue.  In spite of the many ways I can access my email, contacts and scheduling, Outlook 2013 is by far a superior interface for doing it.

I've got exactly the same problem, though initially I thought it was just a contact sync problem (I get lots of duplicates), but the last couple of days I noticed that I had exactly the same issues - mail from the same day was not getting pulled down (or arrived on one Office 2013 setup and not the other)....

I think I can live with the loss of calendaring and contacts (seen as they're in the people and calendar app anyway), as long as all my mail gets synced, so I might swap over to IMAP too....

I've had this problem repeatedly - yet no resolution forthcoming. I did try and speak to their "Answer desk" but the idiot there suggested I reset my IE settings.
