Hello guys!

I have been trying to search if there is a way to change the temperature in Outlook 2013 calendar in group policy? Or at least a registry item to configure?

I know you could set this in Outlook options > calendar... per user. But I would like to implement this to all domain users.

Eg. Set Celsius as default temperature, instead of Fahrenheit

Please help.

Hi,

In Group Policy, you can find the settings under User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Outlook 2013\Outlook Options\Preferences\Calendar Options.

The OCT settings are in corresponding locations on the Modify user settings page of the OCT.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I have seen that blog and have check the policy path before i have posted my problem. There is no option to set the default temp (celsius or fahrenheit) in the office 2013 admx template, i hope there is a way to do this. :(

Have you found a solution for this - I am in the same position and looking for a way to change from Fahrenheit to Celsius on a lot of PCs.

I would be also interested to understand if there is some mass-scale solution for update of this setting.

No solution yet. I have escalated this to Microsoft and no reply so far on this topic.

Apologies, I meant procmon. Not coming up with much. When I change the option from Fahrenheit to Celsius or vice versa I see this file modified C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache\Stream_Weather_2_E7E4FBE0BE3DA54B9BC7193ED6484730.dat but this does appear to contain the setting because if I delete it the temperature I selected it's still set.

I have tried RegMon to check any changes in the registry but no solution. Also, no reply or a clear statement from MS Premier support as well.

It is quite disappointing / annoying that US software engineers seem so ignorant that most of the rest world went decimal some decades ago ...

I'm also working to incorporate the same change in my image.

I have found that opening Stream_Weather_2************.dat in notepad and altering the line <e k="18-DegreeType" v="9-1"/> to <e k="18-DegreeType" v="9-0"/> will change Weather from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

But the name of the file is different for different profiles in different machines.

Some more light on this topic would be great!

The setting is in Outlook:File/Options/Calendar. Scroll to the bottom and there is a weather section

We all know that, please review carefully what we are trying to look for.

It's there as mentioned. I am using Outlook 2013 under File / Options / Calendar / Scroll to the bottom. There you can choose if you want Celsius / Fahrenheit.

This is not the answer to the question posed. How can it be proposed as the answer? That's the problem with the technet site. Soooo many questions marked answered and they are completely wrong!

I'd also be interested in knowing if this setting (and the location) can be change by either "Group Policy" or "Registry" edits  - so as to make it easier to manage multiple computers in a windows domain.

I also know that these settings can be manually changed on individual computers but this isn't what the OP was asking. Pity they didn't have Outlook in the 1700s, other parts of the world could have enjoyed the weather settings!

Hi, this does appear to be controlled via C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache\Stream_Weather_2_GUID

You can change the DegreeType to 9-1 to get Celsius. The issue is this filename has a unique guid for each user. Anyone had any further success automating this?
