Outlook 2013 Block PublicFolders

Running Outlook 2013 32-bit (15.0.4719.1001) with Exchange 2013 CU 7. I need to block public folders to clients who do not need access. I know in older version this was achieved using the HasPublicFolders registry key as documented in the below forum post.

This key does not work in my environment and I can't find any documentation to see if the key was termed or if there is a different configuration for Outlook 2013 w/ Exchange 2013. Can someone help with this subject?

Can't you just put all the folders under a common root folder and then hide that folder from those who don't need to see it through folder permissions?

Not when I'm dealing with more than one-hundred thousand folders and terabytes of data. That's not a very effective method of managing this problem. Effectively I Need people to stop making RPC connections to the server.

How many top-level folders do you have?  That's what matters.

About 350 top level folders.

It shouldn't be too terribly hard to create a new master top-level folder, apply the rights you want on it, and the drag the current top-level folders under it.  Test it with one folder to see if it solves you

Ed,

While I appreciate thinking out of the Box, I am not going to change the hierarchy of my Public Folders. I'm still looking for an answer to specifically disable PF at the outlook client.
