Outlook 2013 BCM won't find SQL 2012 Express

Hi

I've never used this forum before but I am having problems with a new install of BCM into my Outlook 2013 and am really stuck.

I have SQL Express 2012 already running along with Outlook 2013. I have installed the latest version of BCM which installed fine but when I go into Outlook and run the wizard no matter what I try I keep getting 'Database creation was unsuccessful' this is the same whether I try to connect to a local database, create a new database or try a remote database.

I have also tried using the BCM for Outlook 2013 Database Tool to create a new database but when I try this all I get is 'Cannot retrieve the list of SQL Server instances. Please make sure that SQL server 2005 or greater is installed and that the service is running'.

I have read some other forums who have experienced similar problems and checked the TCP/IP address etc but I am still having the same problems.

I just want to use BCM with a local database but am completely stuck. Please can someone help. I've even tried calling Microsoft support but after speaking to someone who said he didn't know BCM was put on hold for 45 minutes before I gave up.
