Outlook 2013 - you cannot make changes to contents of this read-only folder - on published calendar

Hello all.

I am using Outlook 2013 Pro Plus.  I have successfully published my default (and non-default) calendars to a WebDAV server (a VM I created on Windows Azure).  Not using an exchange server.

After publishing, I sent invitations to two users to subscribe to the newly published calendar.  No problems there. I can modify the calendar that was published.  No problems there.  However, the two users who subscribed to the calendar get the dreaded "You cannot make changes to contents of this read-only folder" message whenever they attempt to modify the published calendar.

I have seen very little online about this issue.  The one solution that seems to work for some is to turn off "Use Cached Exchange Mode".  However, I do not seem to have access to this feature.  My guess is because I am not using an exchange server.

Is it possible to give subscribers to a published calendar in 2013 permission to modify?  If so, can anyone please help me?

Thanks,

Ben.

Hi,

Please note since you are not using an Exchange account, you can't switch between Cached Mode and Online Mode.

As for this problem, it doesn't use folder/file permissions to set who can edit, only the account that uploads it can edit, everyone else is read only.

I continually have this same problem and have never found an answer that resolves it once and for all. I had this problem on my last computer and am encountering it again even after completely reinstalling windows along with office.I

I have three IMAP email accounts but only one of them, the largest by far, has this issue. I also have a Google Calendar which is synchronized with my outlook calendar using a tool called Sync2 from 4Team. I asked them about this problem and they say they never heard of it.

I have looked several times for a solution to this issue but like in this post there is never a solution provided.

The other pertinent information is first that I am the only user of this computer, there is only one account defined in Windows and I have administrative rights to it.   Second, the problem comes and goes. I may be locked out of deleting emails for a few hours and then all of a sudden Outlook will load a bunch of new emails and allow me to work my inbox. Other times I may not see this problem for a few days and then suddenly it is back again.  Rebooting does not correct the issue nor does just restarting Outlook.

Does anyone know what causes this problem and how to resolve it?

Thank you,

Matt

Hi,

I've got the same problem. But i solved it.

Solution:

When I got a calendar notification from Oulook.com-Agenda I opened that mail.
That mail contains 4 links. One of them is the URL to go to the online calendar (bay01.calendar.live.com) to modify the calendar. I think it comes from Windows Live Messenger which I used but I migrated to MS Outlook.
Then the online calendar appeared and I was enabled to delete the item.
