Outlook 2013 - IMAP Auto Purge is not working on all folders

The option to Auto Purge when changing mailboxes works on items in the Inbox but not on items in the Sent box.  I found this (below), but it does not work on all folders.  This only started happening after the April 27th updates.  Any ideas?

Automatically purge the deleted items

You can configure Microsoft Outlook so that when you switch between folders, any items you have marked for deletion are purged from the IMAP mail server.

  1. Click a folder in your IMAP e-mail account.

  2. On the Edit menu, point to Purge Deleted Messages.

  3. Click Purge Options.

The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box opens.

  4. On the General tab, under Purge Options, select the Purge items when switching folders while online check box.

Note   You must be working online with the mail server for this feature to work.

(PLEASE forgive the BOLD print. I copied/pasted the Solution I wanted to reference and clicked Enter a couple of times to write my question. I tried to UN-bold it, but nothing would work. I AM NOT SCREAMING at ANYONE.) :>)  Thank you!!!

Hi Rita,

From the description, after setting the "Purge items when switching folders while online" option, it only works for items in Inbox but not on items in Sent Items folder, correct?

How is it showing when we delete a message in sent items folder? Is the item displayed in strikethrough text in the header list?

In theory, when we set the purge option, it will apply to all folders in the mailbox. I'd recommend you create a new mail profile in Control Panel and then reconfigure your IMAP account in the new profile to see if this issue continues. For your convenience:

Please let me know the result.

Thanks, Steve!

If I remember correctly, there was no strikethrough; the emails went away, gone for good.  HOWEVER, this is no longer an issue for my customer.  Upon follow-up with her on May 18th, the issue was no longer happening.  I'm not sure what happened or didn't happen, but thanks for the quick response!!
