Outlook 2013 - Have to click on a folder to sync it with Exchange

Hi,

We are using Exchange 2010 SP3 RU2 with outlook 2013 SP1 mail client.

Users are having Full access to multiple shared mailboxes & are auto mapped to their profile.

But some of them are complaining that Outlook is not syncing all folder on its own & they have to click on specific folders & then only that folder starts syncing with Exchange Server, already tried to reconfigure the profile but no luck.

I also tried to modify the Send/Receive groups to specifically include the account & all its subfolders so that it will sync at every scheduled interval, but here as well it is showing only a single Shared mailbox and not all.

Kindly suggest if anyone had faced similar issue.

Thanks & Regards
Singh

If your Outlook is not updating or synchronizing completely with exchange mailbox first of all check whether the offline OST file is synchronized or not with the exchange server mailbox items. To do so perform these steps;

>Select the folder that you want to check then Right click on it and open properties
>Select Synchronization tab here and check Statics for this folder
>If the Synchronization process working correctly then the number of items in Server folder contains filed is same as the number of items in Offline folder contains field and if it is not so then check the profile settings of your outlook version.

For updating offline folder automatically whenever you are online and every time you exit outlook. Perform these steps

>Click tool and select Option
>Click the Mail Setup tab
>Check Send immediately when connected checkbox in Send/Receive section
>Then click Send/Receive, Send/Receive dialogue box prompted check that the Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting option is selected.
>Click close and ok

Sounds like you are using cached mode, Outlook 2013 has a feature in the profile where it can only download a subset of mail. Take a look at those settings and see if its anything but All Mail.

Hi Singh,

Please check whether you turned off the Download Shared Folders in Advanced tab and use shared mailbox in Online mode. Please check the following settings in Outlook:

1. Open Outlook, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

2. Click Change and make sure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.

3. Click More Settings > Advanced tab. Make sure use Cached Exchange Mode is checked and Download shared folders is checked.

4. Click Apply > OK > Next > Finish.

Then check whether the issue persists.
