Outlook 2013-Office 365 Send Error

I have been going through this on the Office 365 forum for over a week, and they sent me here.

I just bought a new computer and signed up for Office 365 to get Outlook. I set up my GoDaddy Webmail IMAP email account just fine in Outlook, and all my messages import into Outlook right away, but I cannot send. I get the 0x8004010F Object Not Found error.

I've tried creating and activating a new Outlook profile several times through Outlook and the Control Panel mail setup wizard, and it does not solve the problem. I tried using all of the suggested ports from GoDaddy support, with and without SSL, but no luck. If I cannot solve this problem, I am going to have to cancel my Outlook 365 subscription because it's pointless without Outlook.

Hi,

What is your Windows version? Is it Windows 10?

Please try the steps below and check if this can help:

  • Right click on the Start button of Windows and choose: Command Prompt (Admin).
    • If you dont see this, instead choose: Windows PowerShell (Admin)
  • Behind the prompt type: sfc /scannow
(note the space in the command)
  • Wait until the process completes.
  • Restart your computer.

Moreover, please double confirm the account settings are correct, like the port of outgoing server.

Thanks Melon,

I have done all of those things, but I still get the send error. Here is what I've done over the past 2 weeks:

Created new profiles

Deleted old profiles and old data files

Renamed profiles by closing Outlook and going directly to the file location and right clicking "rename"

Uninstalled Office 365/Outlook twice

Reinstalled Office 365/Outlook (twice)

Ran the sfc /scannow twice with restart afterward- the first time it did find and repair a corrupted file, but the second scan was clean, and it still did not help.

Went through the GoDaddy webmail settings over and over, tried all the ports, with and without SSL

Checked the box for outgoing server authentication as required by GoDaddy. Tried it by manually entering a username/password and by telling it to use the same credentials as incoming.

Hi,

Is it a Windows 10 system?

Please check if you have any firewall settings that may block the email, disable the related settings to send emails again.

Please also perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with Outlook.

Yes, it is Windows 10. The computer came with Windows 10 and McAffee installed. I turned off the McAffee firewall but it didn't help. I'm not sure how to find other firewall settings that might be related to email.

I will try to do the clean boot next.

Thanks

I've tried to create a new profile like 10 times. Are there any instructions for how to do it in Outlook 2013? Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

OK-- I was doing it wrong the whole time.

I was trying to create a new profile from within Outlook. I didn't know the difference between a profile and an account. (I asked that on the Office 365 forum and never got an answer. I think they gave up on me by that point.)

I went into the Mail settings in the Control Panel and created a new Profile there, and named it something totally different than the accounts I had. I also had it create a new Outlook data file. With the different name, it was easy to track. Closed Outlook and restarted it, and the new Profile and data file came online. Hit Send/Receive and all is well.

Thanks for the help.
