Outlook 2013, Exchange 2010, multiple domains - name cannot be matched to a name in the address list

Trying to setup a second email account in Outlook 2013 - different domain names but the same "name prefix" (ie.  john[at]123.com and john[at]456.com)  Both domains are hosted on the same Exchange 2010 server - casarray.ex3.secureserver.net - in the .  When attempting to create the second email account, after entering john[at]456.com, we get "The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list."    It seems that Outlook cannot "find" the second domain name in Hosted Exchange 2010.   Help!  Thanks  John

Hi

As per you description, I think it is not possible to set up a second account using same name.

Thanks, Goyal - what's confusing is that this setup has been running seamlessly for over a year on Outlook 2010 and MES2010 (and XP.)  Only when we upgraded to Outlook 2013 (still MES2010) and Win7, have we run into this problem.  Also, the Account ID for each email address is different (ie. john1 is the ID for john[at]123.com and john2 is for john[at]456.com.)  Regardless, the second account / domain will not resolve in Outlook 2013.   Any other thoughts would be appreciated.  Thx  John

Hi,

Please create a second Outlook Profile from Control Panel -> Mail, then create te second account, any issue?

If yes, you still get the error "The name could not be matched to a name in the address list."

This issue typically occurs when the user account is not associated with a mailbox or when it has been manually configured to be hidden from the Global Address List. Lack of Active Directory permissions to certain objects or issues with the Exchange Recipient Update Service are also common causes. In addition to the error above, end users may be unable to successfully perform a check name, create a MAPI profile, or connect to an Exchange server.

Name Could Not be Matched to a Name in the Address List

If no, then maybe this can be a workaround in your scenario to use two separate profiles.

Thanks for your leads, Melon.  I have tried a separate profile before but to be sure tried it again.  I get the same issue - "Name Cannot be matched . . . "   I will look into the user account / Global Address List issues tomorrow.  Much obliged.    John

I am still unable to add the two domains that are held under the same GoDaddy Hosted Email group.  OffCAT has not identified any problems.  I have asked another tech to confirm that the setup is correct, as per your May 19th advice above.  I will be in touch soon.  Thx  John
