start Outlook 2010 get error cannot start outlook . cannot open outlook window the set of folders cannot be opened. the file c:\Users............\Outlook Files\Outlook.ost cannot be opened.

I have checked and the file is where it should be . What can I do to fix the  problem?

I have just upgraded to win 10 but had the problem with win 8 before upgrading

Hi,

In this case, youll need to adjust the file permissions for the ost-file that is referenced and grant yourself Full Control permissions.

1. Browse to the file location as indicated in the error.
2. Right click on the file and choose Properties.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Press the Edit button.
5. Select your user account.
6. Select the Full control permission.
7. Press OK until all dialogs are closed.
8. Start Outlook again.
