Outlook 2010 personal archive folder offline access
looking for a 3rd party tool to work with Outlook to enable users to view their emails and personal archive folders offline. Email retention policy doesn't allow storage of more than 60 days in email folders but personal archive folders are not subject to those terms.  Users need to view their personal archive folders in an offline mode but unlike PST's this isn't possible. Looking for some type of 3rd party tool to assist - perhaps extract the emails and allow to view the email and attachments when offline.

Hi,

Microsoft doesnt recommend any third-party provider or third-party solution. Microsoft cannot guarantee or endorse the accuracy of any information or of any solution that is presented by Microsoft or by any mentioned third-party provider.

By the way, the whole idea of the archive mailbox is to keep your "online" mailbox with recent / important mail small and accessible on and offline. The archive mailbox is intend to store older / less important mail which is not necessary to access immediately.

Think what will happen if you have a larger archive in outlook and you will cache it locally your offline file will grow big time and outlook will become slow again. One of the reasons to use an archive mailbox is to prevent the grow of offline files.

Best Regards.

Thank you for your response.  Yes, you are correct but sadly I'm dealing with a large company of users that is not going to change the way they are doing things.  Some engineers work out of their archive folders and email when in locations that do not allow network access or thumb drives.  Agree this is not good practice but I must find a way to allow for this.  I did find one product but need to find one or two more if possible.   We just moved from PST's to PAF's.  As you probably know PST"s are not the best or dependable means of storage but they were able to view offline.   Thank you again.
