Outlook 2010 keeps asking for credentials

Hello,

We have a Exchange 2013 server with outlook 2010 clients wich constanly ask for credentials.

even with the option save credentials on.

The Exchange servers are hosted and the clients are not part of a domain and use Outlook Anywhere.

Outlook 2013 clients do not have this problem.

I tried several things:

-new profile

-rename ProtectSystemProider folder

- dword registry Savecredentials

- removed ProtectSystemProvider registry key

- Removed or edited credential manager accounts

We have this problem on serveral Windows 7 clients and Remote Desktop Server 2008 r2 sessions.

Hope anyone can help me.

Hi Cris,

Please try to clean up the cached credential in your computer. Then fill in with the format of UPN when it prompted for credentials next time and check the Remember my credential to save it. About how to remove cached credentials, please follow these steps:

1. Launch the Credential Manager from Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Credential Manager.

2. In the Generic Credentials section youll see a setting for [MS Outlook] which will include your SSO details. Click the downward-pointing arrow to the right of that value.

3. In the expand details, click Remove from vault. Then Outlook will no longer have a stored copy of your password.

Hi Winnie,

Thank you for your reply.

I already removed any credentials from the vault and fill it in with UPN credentials but that didn't help.

Hi,

1. Are you trying to do an Autodiscover lookup or Manual connection?

2. Are you stuck in Profile creation or is the profile created and you are unable to launch the Outlook post that?

3. Does the Outlook loads emails if you hit cancel or exits?

Based on the above we have to troubleshoot:

If it is 1... Which point it is failing.. If it is 2. If it is the profile creation is successfull but not the Outlook will launch, then mbx corruption or something related to mbx access. If it is 3 then it could be configuration issues on the Server. Look for connection status and let me know the information where it exactly it says connecting.

Hello,

thanks for reply.

1) both, and both fails

2) Creating is possible, but opening outlook fails.

3) No, Outlook don't load mails until it open correctly.

Could you give me more suggestions to fix it?

Thanks

Hi All,

I fixed it by changing the username in the local active directory.

The username in the local active directory was the same as the username in the hosted cloud exchange active directory.

Then outlook rememberd the credentials and was not asking anymore for credentials.

Hello Crisk,

Thanks for your answer.

But there are more colleagues who have this problem. Only one has it almost every day.
All this people are working on the terminal server. People with a workstation don't have any complaints.

thanks
