Outlook 2010 is using old data for distribution group address
We are using Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. Recently I had to remove an email address and replace it with a distribution group using the same name. The original account was deleted in both AD and Exchange but Outlook insists that the address is now invalid. The only way I (or my users) can send mail to the distribution group is to use the address book to enter the address in the "To" field. I have cleared the address cache in outlook,  and removed and recreated the account several times. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Did you get any error information when you sent to the distribution list? Does it specify any particular email address stating invalid recipient? If so, please remove the address from the contribution list and check the result.

If possible, please recreate the distribution list and test the issue again.

For more information, please refer:

Thanks.

It acts like I'm sending to a nonexistent address, as if I had deleted the old address and then tried to send a message to it. If I type name@domain.edu in the To field it underlines it and looks like a standard email address. If I click "To", then type the name of the group in the search field and select it the collapsed group name appears in the To field everything works as expected.

Well, after a few dozen test messages it suddenly started working properly for me. It's some kind of caching problem. I'm trying to determine if my users are still affected.
