I am using Windows 8 Pro OEM 64 bit & just completed installation on a new computer I just finished for myself. I installed MS Office 2010 Professional & set up the e-mail accounts I use (3) in the control panel "Mail" section. I am receiving e-mail on the mail program on the Windows 8 start screen but when I open outlook & use the same email address, I get new messages on the windows 8 mail program but not on the Outlook program with the same e-mail address. How do I receive new email in outlook as I don't really like the mail program on the start screen of windows 8?

which account type is it?

If it is POP3 account, With a POP3 e-mail account, your e-mail messages are downloaded to your computer and then usually deleted from the mail server.

If it isn't POP3 account, did you add this account which added into Mail app into Outlook? Please check it:

1. open Outlook program:

2. click FILE-> Account settings-> Account Settings...;

3. on the "E-mail" tab, view whether this account is added in.

Also, at the SEND/RECEIVE tab, click "Updat Folder" and then check the result.
