Outlook 2010 cannot update meetings
Hello all,

I have an interesting issue with some few users in an Exchange 2010 environment. The employees are using Outlook 2010 and some cannot update meetings at all. A delegate tries to update a meeting of the boss for example adding attendees, changing the agenda or changing the date then the user will be asked "Do you want to send the update to all attendees or only the updated?" and afterwards they get in German logical "In order to execute this request you have to be granted permission level 3!"

I don't know how the EM looks like in English, but it it should fit "Editor" rights in Outlook and the delegate got "Editor" rights.

And the really interesting point is... it works in OWA!

One floor supporter told me he could fix this issue not by creating a new Outlook profile, but by creating a new Windows profile. You can imagine that this costs too much time and the effort is too high.

So from the symptoms something must be wrong in the local user settings.

Have you any idea to solve this in a smooth way?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi,

Since there's no issue on OWA, it should be an Outlook Client issue.

Please try to run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:

Press Win + R and type outlook.exe /safe in the blank box, then press Enter.

If theres no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

Please also disable firewall and anti-virus program temporarily to test the result.

Have you tried a new Mail profile?
