Outlook 2010 cannot start because of patches

Ok this is twice now auto updates are playing havoc.  I hope it is not just here.  Last update I had people tell me outlook could not start.  After investigating I found if I removed KB2956128, outlook works again.  It installed this update twice, I removed one and all went back to normal.  Yesterday. Same issue with KB2956203,  Anyone else having this issue?  Again, it appears to have been installed twice?????

TIA,

It sounds like there is something wrong with your installation then as it should not show up twice. How do other Office updates like updates for Word for you?

You might want to consider reinstalling Office. Make sure you first remove all Office installations via Control Panel before and then reboot before attempting to install it again.

No settings or data are lost during the reinstall process but it of course never hurts to have your backups in order.

It seems to be outlook specific and is happening on all 80 of my user PC's, not just mine.  I have a mix of windows 7 32, and 64 bit

I can't repro that in any of my Windows 7/Outlook 2010 configurations (32-bit, 64-bit, multilingual, etc...).

Which deployment method did you use to install Office 2010 originally and which method do you use to deploy the updates?

It could be due to the way that your installations were packaged, which is why you also see that for all your computers. Doing a local re-installation and using Windows Update directly instead of WSUS or any other update mechanism would confirm that.

I used DVD to install on all PC's and I am not using a WSUS.  Updates are downloaded and applied when available from microsoft update.
