Outlook 2010 SP2 Freeze / Crash when Connection Lost to Exchange

Hi there,

We have a new Image with Outlook 2010 SP2 only.

The Clients are Connected over local LAN to the Exchange Server.
The Connection is done over MAPI.

The Problem is now, when you cut the local LAN and let the WLAN Online (Internet Only Access), Outlook Stuck on Connection retry.

When you start writing a new Mail and klick on send Outlook Freezes or Crashes.

Sometimes after 15-30 min it goes to Offline Mode and everything works like it should.

There is no Connection to the Exchange Server over the WLAN.
Also no DNS Resolution.

When the WLAN is Disconnected it changes to Offline very fast.

Thanks for the Help.

Hi ,

1.Please check outlook anywhere is enabled on your cas servers and also check the SAN certificate is installed and enabled for the cas servers.

Note : Make sure the name which is used on outlook anywhere is available on the SAN certificate.

2.Then we need to open port no 443 in firewall for outlook anywhere connectivity and also make sure autodiscover is working fine from external world. Then only it will bring the outlook anywhere settings to the outlook client automatically otherwise we need to provide it manually.

3.If all the above is done then we can use EXRCA to do an check for outlook anywhere connectivity to exchange.

Hi there,

First thanks for the Answer.
The Exchange Server is not accessible from external world.
And it won't be.

Hi,

If the Outlook Anywhere is not enabled in Exchange server for external Internet accessing, the Outlook would not connect to Exchange server with WLAN.
