Outlook 2010 Kb2956128 Update Causing Authentication Issue
After installing 2/10/15 [kb2956128] update for outlook 2010 desktop client, I got a popup requesting my password for outlook / exchange account. No matter how many times I put it in the password the popup comes back with a new request. I've logged in to my exchange account via OWA and with my phone without an issue. When I remove the [kb2956128] update the problem goes away. Any suggestions or thought would be helpful.

Hi,

How about manually canceling the credential window, can Outlook still send/receive emails properly?

For this kind of credential issues, I would first try creating another Outlook profile and test if the issue persists.

Thanks,

I can cancel the credential window and then send and receive emails properly but seconds later it comes back. Should I still reinstall the update and create a new outlook profile? Or is there something else going on?

I am having the same issue and thought it had something to do with two step verification on password. Its a mess. Looking forward to an easy solution!

We've had this issue occur when migrating mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to Office 365. Generally a simple repair of the Outlook profile was enough to resolve it. Worth a try at least, and much less time consuming than profile rebuilds.

I have the same issue, on Windows 7 as well as on Windows 8.1.

Profiles have been recreated but the the problem persists.

It goes away when patch kb2956128 is uninstalled.
