Outlook 2010 Calendar Meeting Reverting After Change

Hi Everyone,

I have seen this same situation reported on various sites but no solution or source of the problem is listed. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated though there may be no solution and just an outstanding bug that hasn't been resolved.

Environment:

Exchange 2010sp3 rollup 9

Outlook 2010 fully patched

We are getting a constant issue where a change to an occurrence of a reoccurring meeting will end up reverting back to the original time on the owners calendar. The person making the change is actually a delegate of the owner and not the owner themselves. Basically this delegate will open an occurrence of a meeting and change the time/date. The invitee will receive the update and will be fine. The owner will initially also show the reflected change but as short as a few minutes later the meeting will revert back to the original time for the occurrence.

I have disabled cached mode for the delegate but the problem still exists unless I need to try disabling cache mode for the owner which may not go over well in terms of usability. This problem also happens with a different set of owner/delegates so it's not isolated.

Thanks again for any ideas/input.

Hi,

Based on the description, the time/date only reverts on the owner's calendar? If so, let the owner check the calendar on OWA, does the time/date also revert there?

Yes, disabling Cached Mode may affect the performance, but please try it as a troubleshooting step, does the problem persist?

If you need to use Cached Mode, please open the owner's Outlook, check this option:

FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> E-mail tab -> Double click on the account name -> More Settings -> Advanced tab -> Untick "Download shared folders" -> OK -> Next -> Finish.

Hi,

I have taken the delegate out of cache mode as this is the person making the changes. I have not taken the owner out of cache mode. The problem still persists when the delegate is not using cache mode. Yes it does revert in OWA as well.
