Outlook 2010 / 2013 Rules

Hello,

I want to set up some rules in outlook 2013 to disallow .exe files and emails from various senders to be sent to the trash. If I create a rule in outlook will it apply to every email account that I have configured in outlook? Or will I have to create a rule for each individual account?

I know that in office 365 its a default rule to NOT allow .exe attachments but with my Gmail account it is not.

Do outlook 2010 / 2013 rules apply to all emails accounts configured on that email account, regardless of email provider?

Hi,

What types of email accounts are you using?

One Outlook rule doesn't apply to all email accounts. If you want to apply a rule to all accounts, you need to create the rule for each account. However, Rules for the main Exchange account and POP3 accounts are grouped together.

When we create rules, there is a dropdown list at the top to select to which account(s) the rules should apply. See:

Hope this helps.
