Outlook 2010 - Bcc disappears from view in Sent Items

Hello,

Some folks have reported that the Bcc field disappears from their emails in the Sent Items folder. Our local application analysts have witnessed this.

Has anyone seen this?  A solution to this?

Thanks

Ron

Hi,

Based on my research, this problem can occur when both of the following items are true:

  • You are using an Online mode profile (not cached mode)
  • You included a large number of e-mail addresses in the Bcc field when you sent the message

Note: the exact number of e-mail addresses to cause this problem varies according to the length of the addresses. However, one user reported this problem occurred when they included 500 e-mail addresses in the Bcc field.

To prevent this problem from occurring, please try either of the following solutions:

  • Use an Cached mode profile
  • Use a Distribution list instead of a large number of e-mail addresses.

Steve,

We are in online mode (non-cached).  Since we are a VDI environment, we can't use cache mode.

Right now, I am follow-up on the QTY of email addresses in the Bcc field.

Thanks

I was just testing again, and it happens to single email addresses.

This issue came up again.  I had the user test in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2007.

While viewing the BCC info in Outlook 2010, no luck.  But when sending and viewing from Outlook 2007, it worked.

Running Outlook 2010 in Safe Mode didn't fix the issue.

Ideas?

Thanks

Ron
