Outlook 2010: Web folder not opening web address

Hi

We have an archive using Enterprise Vault.cloud. I did setup ADFS 2.0 for SSO when accessing to the personal archive on Enterprise Vault.cloud. When I type the URL in the browser I get logged to my archive and SSO works fine. But when I create a Web folder on Outlook and set the home page to my archive it gets stucked on "Loading, first-time use takes longer". I can see the authentication process on my ADFS Event Log and it seems fine, the user gets logged on. But outlook keeps showing the message "Loading, first-time use takes longer"

I'm posting this here because I think this problem might not be related to the archive itself. I'd like to figure out what's the difference of opening an URL from Outlook or IE. As I said if I type the same URL on IE I get logged on to my archive and SSO works fine. But there must be some difference when I open the same URL using a web folder on Outlook. Maybe some security settings are preventing to successfully log on to the archive. I checked the option "Allow script in shared folders" (although I'm not using shared folders) and it didn't make any difference.

I have no access permission to setup the account pf Enterprise Vault.cloud in my Outlook and get a chance to reproduce the behavior. In your site, please try to Launch Outlook in safe mode to check if the Web folder is able to open the web address.

Please also go to File > Options > Trust Center > Privacy Options > Check if all of the option is checked. At meanwhile, please also check the setting of Email Security and Automatic Download is proper in the same path.

Please create a new Outlook profile to test it either.

Hi

First of all thank you for your answer.

I've tried everything you said with no luck. I've checked the settings on "Trust Center", the safe mode and created a new profile. But I always got the same result. Outlook gets stuck on "Loading, first-time use..."

The funny thing is that I tried with a PC not joined to the domain running the same version of Outlook and connected on the same subnet, and then it worked. Of course the SSO didn't work but once I typed the credentials I got my archive on the web folder.

I suspect it may have something to do with TMG. Maybe the SSO is getting into a loop. But what it doesn't make any sense is the fact that I can log on (with SSO) to the archive using IE from the same computer where Outlooks fails.

Hi,

Looking at complexity of the case, it seems more like an issue with Enterprise Vault rather than Outlook. I would suggest you to open a phone support case with Microsoft as we may need to collect logs and dumps and analyze the same which is not possible via this Forum support. Further we would also require support from Symantec on this as we do not know the mechanism behind the object model

To create phone support case you may contact Microsoft Customer Central on 1-800-936-4900 or you may alternatively visit http://support.microsoft.com/oas to create phone support case

Hope this helps
