I have a user that seems to have a peculiar issue with Outlook 2010. He archived old emails, and can open the file and sub folders fine and had been working and thing were good. A few weeks ago he came to me saying that he was missing emails for a certain date range from his archived sub folders, a few hours later he thanked me for fixing the issue for him because the messages were back. (I hadn't done anything yet.) About a week later he came back saying that messages were missing again, this time from a different time range. It's been over a week and the messages are still missing. (I've been tied up with bigger issues so I am just now getting to look into his issue.) I checked his computer and Auto Archiving is not turned on, he is using a Win 7 x64 with Outlook 2010, emails come from an Exchange server (not certain what version we are running there) and default data file is a .OST file, he has two archive folders (Archive and Archive1) both are .PST files and are stored in the default location on his C. I haven't used the Scan file tool that comes with Outlook yet; email is not my forte` so I haven't done anything yet other than checking the basics. (Also, I have no access to the Exchange server, and we have 100's of users, but I only have the 1 user that is effected.)
What might have caused this? Where should I start or what should I do?
