Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003 SP2 - Calendar questions?
Can someone help me answer this question? I have user 1 sent an invite to user 2. User 2 got invite and accepted the meeting but choose the "not to send response" option. User 1 never got email that User 2 accepted the meeting and when she look at her calendar invite, it said "no responses." However if User2 look at this invite, it said he accepted the meeting @ Date/Time. If User 2 accepted the meeting and say "send response now." User 1 will get an email plus in in her calendar, it said the meeting was accepted by Users 2. Is that how Exchange work? I'm not sure as I always thought even if they accept but "not send response" that in the calendar section, User 1 should have gotten an update. I just thought they won't get an email? So not sure if something is not working or if they choose not to send response, that User 1 will get no update whatsoever? Please help! Thanks!

Not exactly; that's how Outlook works. So you think not sending a response should send a response?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hello, I have also tested in Exchange 2007 and 2010 and the result is the same. So, it should be an expected behavior in Outlook and Exchange. If you have any concerns about it, fell free let us know. Thanks, Simon Wu Exchange Forum Support Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help. I figure User1 won't get an email but figure it'll still update the calendar portion. Glad to know that's how Outlook work. Will let user know.

Thank you so much for your help with this. Glad to know this is the expected behavior in Outlook/Exchange. Wasn't sure as I always thought even though they pick "send no response." that it only mean they won't send an email but will update the User 1 calendar. Will let User know. Thanks again!

It does update the recipient, doesn't it? The way calendaring works, the sender's calendar gets updated by the response message. It's all messaging.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
