Outlook 2007 meeting invitation causes errors with Exchange Server 2003
Any insight on the cause and fix for this issue will be appreciated. Outlook 2007 calendar issues with our Exchange 2003: Calendar message created using Outlook 2007 is corrupt on creation or more often corrupt when updated, this results in the following errors: Entourage recipients will not receive the meeting invite or update. Webmail (OWA) recipients will see the invite or update but it will not open (HTTP Error 5xx). IMAP recipients (Thunderbird etc) generate hundreds/thousands of error events to be logged at the Exchange Application Event log. This makes the log unreadable so we cannot see any other information. Blackberry recipients (IMAP connections) of meeting invite stop receiving mail and generate the same Exchange Event Log entries mentioned above. Corrupt calendar message is not delivered to outside internet recipients with Exchange 2007 servers and sits in Outbound queue for 5 days in retry status. My only fix is to have the users locate the meeting invitation message using OWA and delete it from Inbox/Deleted Items. As mentioned earlier, invite cannot actually be opened in OWA, it will display HTTP 5xx error. A Microsoft Hotfix (article ID: 938650) seems to apply somewhat to this situation, but I have not installed it.
