Outlook 2007 Credential Prompts SBS 2008
Hi, I am having a promplem at one of my customers. Outlook 2007 Credential Prompts shortly after entering Outlook. The prompt says connecting to remote.ayz.com. The users are already logged into the network/domain. Email is working fine just getting this prompt. It is an SBS 2008 server runnig Exchange 2007. Version 08.03.0106.001 I have put up all the sevice packs, updates, rollups & KB's I can find about this. Updates shows current as: Update Rollup 1 for Exchange server 2007 SP3 KB2279665. I have also tried the Kernel authenication Mode fix on: 1. autodiscover 2. EWS 3. RPC 4. OAB I have this version running at several customers, and no problem their. Just this one. This was the first one I did. Any Idea? Thanks in advance! Dexter Southerland

Was it configured with the wizards? Have you run the fix my network wizards? Does remote.example.com resolves to the SBS server as expected? Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Hello, According to the host name “remote.ayz.com” on the credential window, it seems to be a external host name for Outlook Anywhere or OWA. If this is the case, I suggest we try: 1. On a problematic Client, open Outlook. 2. Click Tools >> Account settings. 3. Double click the profile name and click More Settings. 4. On the Connection tab, uncheck on “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP”. 5. Save the changes and restart the Outlook to check this issue. What’s the result? Thanks, Simon

Hello, According to the host name “remote.ayz.com” on the credential window, it seems to be a external host name for Outlook Anywhere or OWA. SBS also uses the name for the internal autodiscover address - so it can popup during that process as well. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Simon, You are right. Some web services urls, such as autodiscover and availibility servces, may be customized as https://remote.ayz.com/xxx/xxx. We may also refer to the following article to check the default authenticaitons for every Exchange VDs. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg263433(EXCHG.80).aspx Thanks, Simon Wu
