Outlook 2003 can't connect directly to one Exchange server via Outlook Anywhere ...
Hi there, We're having a strange problem. Some of our users work for another company and access their mailboxes there using Outlook Anywhere. After months of working fine, the connection was suddenly unavailable this week with "server unavailable or offline" errors. The remote site has two Exchange servers, EX01 and EX02 and everyone is on EX01. After trial and error, we found that if we change the Exchange Mailbox Server setting in Outlook to EX02, then Outlook changes it back to EX01 and it works fine again. But if we create a new profile and try to connect directly to EX01, no luck. We always have to pass initially via EX02. Can anyone please suggest a reason for that? No network or firewall changes at our side. The RPC tunnel is established without problems. Certs are still valid on the servers. Outlook 2003/2010 against an Exchange 2003 server with ISA 2006 (the RPC proxy) at the remote site. Thanks, - Alan.
