Outlook 2003 Meeting Request - receiving NDR
I have 2 different but related issues. Problem 1: User A sends meeting request to User B and receives NDR - unable to send to User C. User C used to be listed as a delegate in User B's Outlook (Tools/Options/Delegates) but is no longer there. User C left the company some time ago. I have seen similar problems elsewhere and have tried some of the solutions (e.g. add a user who has never been added before into User B's delegates, wait 30 minutes and delete user. Also tried creating new Outlook profile but issue still exists. Alsoensured the "Send meeting requests and responses only to my delegatesin Tools/Options/Delegates is unchecked.) I am going to recreate the whole mailbox next week but if anyone has other good ideas I'd like to hear them. I believe there is a tool which can be downloaded MBDView butit's a big deal toinstall this on the server and so would like to avoid this tool if possible. Problem 2: the trickier of the two. User A sends meeting request to 3 users, including User B. NDR is returned to User A showing that the mail could not be delivered to User B. User B still exists in the organisation. When User A sends a meeting request ONLY to User B, it is received normally. No one involved has delegates set. I have already tried the solutions stated in Problem 1 Outlook 2003/Exchange 2003, any help appreciated. Any more info needed?

Problem 1 : I was trying to avoid it, but I ended up recreating the mailbox which solved the problem. I had tried a number of solutions which were pasted on other forums but none worked. I think I'll just recreate the mailbox straight away next time. Problem 2 : User said it mysteriously stopped being a problem so I never investigated further.

Problem 1 - Alternate option to recreating the mailbox (not an option in my environment). My setup - Exchange 03. Outloook 03 & 07 Although, the AD Object causing the issue was long gone (User C), and did not appear under the Delegation Tab in Tools>Options of User B's Outlook settings. Right-clicking onUser B'sInbox and choosing Properties, and then going to the Permissions tab found the issue. There was a SID (Likely User C) in there alongwith the "Default" entry. I removed the SID. This may have been a issue whereUser B'Shared' instead of 'Delegated' his mailbox.

The above did not endup resolving the issue. To resolve without recreating the mailbox I used theMFCMAPI utility to look at the inbox rules (Message Class = "IPM.Rule.Message"). There were 3 that showed "Err:0x8...". Looking in User B's mail client normally (Outlook '03), only a single rule was present. I deleted the 3 rules and tested. No more NDR's.

In later troubleshooting I have also used MFCMAPI - seems to work nicely.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb508857(EXCHG.65).aspxGo down to Deleting the Delegate's Rule
