Outlook 2003 - Unable to see emails belonging to a certain reference number.

Hi all,

I would like to find out regarding this issue.

I'm using Outlook 2003, recently I had to recreate my Outlook profile for some troubleshooting steps I did.

Since then I realize that whenever I type in the search bar e.g 312456 reference number to search for some emails with the same number only a few emails appear. Whereas if I go to another Outlook 2003 of my colleagues, many emails from previous weeks of the same reference number appear.

Probably, it is useful to note that i am using Windows 7 while my colleague is using Windows XP.

Is this has got something to do with Outlook indexing? If not why is there such an issue?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, your Outlook indexing may not complete. Please go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Indexing Options and check if the Indexing is complete in the Indexing Options dialog. Also check if your Outlook is in the indexing locations list. See the screen shot below (I'm using an Outlook 2013 on a Windows 8 OS):

If above option all set properly, please click on the Advanced button and click Rebuild to troubleshoot the issue.

Hope this helps.
