Outlook 03 craps after moving mailboxes to e2k7
Got Exchange loaded after running all the prep stuff and readiness check. We have a E2k3 server already and are planning on slowly migrating everybody over. Well I was moving some test accounts and it moved over beautifully. I waited a few minutes and checked to make sure through outlook that it was looking a tthe 2k7 server and it was. But no mail was flowing. I checked the routing group connector and both servers showed up. I tried again later with a different test account and it hosed up Outlook bad. It would not even let me get out. I rebooted and finally had to move the mailbox back to the E2k3 server. finally after an hour everytthing worked again. So what have I missed. The server installed fine, Have the mnimum server roles on there. Has anyone else had this kind of trouble with outlook after migrating to 2007? Why do you think the mail is not flowing on the 07 box? Thanks!

Issue description: In a mixed environment [Exchange 2003 (E2K3) & Exchange 2007 (E2K7)], outlook 2003 hang, and mail flow also not works after Move Mailbox task Troubleshooting: 1. Please describe the topology in the organization 2. On the hanged client, recreate the profile, see if issue persists 3. Did Move Mailbox generate any related log in the application log on the both E2K3 & E2K7? 4. Please check the logs of Move Mailbox as well Notes: <Exchange Install Root>\Logging\MigrationLogs 5. Could you create a new mailbox on E2K7 directly and check the mail flow on its client? References: Exchange 2007 migration overview Transitioning from Exchange 2000/2003 to Exchange Server 2007

The topology is a single forest domain. Both Exchange boxes 2k3 and 2k7 are running on Windows Server 2003. I found part of the problem with mail flow. It was a dns issue. So here is what I have. I successfully moved a test user mailbox from 2k3 to 2k7. I sent an email to this person and this person sent a reply back. They originated an email and I received it. Please note that all this was done on another pc via OWA. So if I use OWA it seems to work ok. However, If I go to the person's real pc and open Outlook, it will never "connect" I checked the mail setting and it is pointing to the 2k7 server which is great, however it will never seem to connect as I see a "trying to connect" down in the bottom right hand part of the screen where I normally would see "connected".It eventually fails. I can ping the 2k7 from the pc in question.

Additional note: I can telnet to port 25 only if I am on the Local server. It connects and I can do ehlo etc, but from any other machine it will not allow telnet. So Idid this: Exchange Management Console / Server Configuration / Hub Transport / Receive Connectors: It shows 2 entries by default: Default <ServerName> Client <ServerName> I went and selected the Default / Properties / Permission Groups Tab and made sure select anonymous users ws checked. It was. So I'm still at a loss.
