Outlook.com mail contact (group) list

I immediately have the problem of loosing my group contacts Outlook mail. With hotmail when I clicked on contacts all of my groups were visable. Clicking on "help" was of no help at all. I just spent over an hour trying to figure out the sytem without any results.

The reson I stuck with hotmail for all of these years rather than use my Office Outlook was because of the simplicity of the use of Hotmails conact options. With Office Outlook you do not have the option of sorting the individual members in a group by last name. Is this going to happen with Outlook mail? Is Gmail going to be an option for those who use groups extensively?

Hi,

We can sort the members with the order of Last name in distribution list by configuring the "Names and filing" options before creating the distribution list in Office Outlook.
In Outlook 2010, try the following steps to see if it can be helpful:
File > Options > Contacts section > select "Last Fist" to Default "Full Name" order and "Last, First" to Default "File As" order
Create a new distribution list and add members in it. Now you can see all the members is sorted by the Last name before E-mail address.

I'm testing Windows 10 and have a lot of problems with outlook.com mail app.

1. can't export .ldif files into outlook mail. Been working close to 4 hours with a co-worker and not close yet.

the file needs to be converted to CSV file in order to import to outlook.

2. Tried to email a friend from outlook mail, his old address appeared in the TO: field , have no idea where the

contacts are stored for outlook, looked in People app and the person's correct email address appears there.

I have sent Feedback through the app to Microsoft Techs.

The change over from other mail clients needs to be easier for the beginning user to help that user be able

to recommend the PC to their friends.  There was 2 of us trying to find results on locating contacts and trying

to get the .ldif files imported.
