Outbox filling up but E-mails are being delivered
Hi guys, Strange issue being reported by a user... He is getting alerts saying that his mailbox is full. When he opens Outlook 2007 and rights clicks his mailbox he has 79677kb on total size the local tab. and 201680 total size on the server tab. What odd about the server tab is that it says there is a large number of items in the users oubox, however the user tells me that everything he sent has been delivered. The total local size of the mailbox is well below the quota of 2 gigs. Any idea what would cause this? Thanks.

What does OWA show? If Outlook is in cached mode, switch to live mode and check again. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

OWA showed that the E-mails were in fact piling up in the outbox. Once again, the E-mails were only appearing in the outbox on OWA, not in Outlook. Do you know what might have caused this to happen? It appears other users on our network my be having similar issues... Are the clients in cached mode? If so, that would be the first thing I would look at. Delete the ost file and allow it to recreate. Also check there is nothing set in Outlook for delay delivery, which could also cause similar problems. It is quite hard to acurately diagnose it without being in front of the systems affected. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/
