Out Of Office Not working in Co-existence of E2k3 and E2k7
Hi Team, I had recently implemented the ex2007 server in an existing Ex 2003 Org. sudenly the users whose maibox is located in Ex 2007 server is facing the issue is that "Out of Office Not working" . They are using OUTLOOK 2007. the Error is "Your Out of Office Cannot be Displayed, Because the server is unavailable , Try gain Later". The users who are ex 2003 maibox doesn't have any issue while doing the O.O.OF what is the reason behind? Do i need to update office 2007 service pack or some thing?. Please suggest to resolve Regards Ram.

First, make sure you have replicas of all free-busy system folders on both Exchange 2003 and 2007 servers. Second, Outlook 2007 clients use web services for free-busy data, so make sure that your availability service and Web Services Virtual Directory are properly configured. Finally, did you delete the Exchange 2003 administrative group? If you did, then you fouled everything up for migrated users and you'll need to give all of them a new legacyExchangeDN that's based on your new Exchange 2007 administrative group, or find a way to restore the old administrative group.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi i compose a new meeting request from the Ex 2003 user mailbox to Ex 2007 user. When i see the Availabity (from OWA) or scheduling in outlook 2007. it is showing as NO INformation (Before there is no meeting sent or (Available) in the ex 2007 user mailbox) Once the Ex 2007 user accepted the meeting(First Meeting Request)from his inbox, then Free Busy info is available? Is that Normal design, or any issue with Availablity service or Free busy info?

Hi , You can try these steps for troubleshooting: 1. Please try to browse autodiscovery virtual directory [https://FQDNOfCas/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml], see if you can get expected error 600 in the xml page 2. Please check “AutodiscoverServiceInternal URL” in AD database by using ADSI Editor, that’s also the key point you shall check a. Run ADSI Editor [Start->Run->adsiedit.msc] b. Expand “Configuration”->”CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=com”->”CN=Services”->”CN=Microsoft Exchange”->”CN=Orgname”->”CN=Administrative Groups”->”CN=Exchange Administrative Group”->”CN=Servers”->”CN=CASRoleName”->”CN=Protocols”->”CN=Autodiscover”->right-click ”CN=CASRoleName” and choose “Properties”->select “servicebindinginformation” attribute and click “Edit” button c. The attribute: “https://FQDN/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml” 3. Please check the output of the cmdlets below on the CAS server a. Get-ClientAccessServer -Identity CAS_Server_Name | FL [Check AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri’s value] It should be: https://FQDN/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml b. Get-webservicesvirtualdirectory | FL [Check InternalUrl’s value] It should be: https:// FQDN /EWS/Exchange.asmx c. Test-OutlookWebServices –identity AliasOfProblematicUser [Check if there’s error] 4. Please check if “Enable HTTP Keep-Alives” is checked properly in the IIS [6.0 | 7.0] 5. Run “Test E-mail AutoConfiguration” on the problematic client and post the output in the “Result”, “Log” tab a. Right-click the outlook icon in the tray b. Choose “Test E-mail AutoConfiguration” and fill in the username and password c. Only check “Use AutoDiscover” and test 6. Collect Outlook troubleshooting log a. “Tools” menu->click “Options”->click “Other” tab->click “Advanced Options” b. Select Enable logging (troubleshooting), and then click OK c. Restart outlook, and try to set OOF message
