Organizational Heatlh wrong, or am I mistaken about Exchange 2010 CALs?
I am trying to make sure I get my licensing right with shared mailboxes. It is my understanding that in Exchange 2010, shared mailboxes do not require their own CAL, because the users already have one of their own. When I create a shared mailbox, however, the organizational health tool shows another user requiring a license. Am I possibly setting the mailbox up wrong, so that it counts the CAL where it shouldn't? I am using a command similar to this to set up a shared mailbox in the EMS. That Health check is advisory only, I wouldnt take it as the final say as to what you need. Your licensing structure can be client or device based so you really need to consult with your licensing rep on what exactly you are covered and licensed for.

Agree with Andy. Also suggest you call Microsoft directly about license question: In the United States, call (800) 426-9400 to speak to a Microsoft representative. In Canada, call (877) 568-2495.
