Opening a Webpage in a New Tab in IE 8 Beta 2
Hi. I installed Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 about a week ago. At first it was fine, but now when I try to right-click a link to open it in a new tab or new window, the page is blank. The top of the tab displays Connecting... very briefly and then disappears. I have a laptop running Window Vista. Any ideas why this should happen? Thanks

Check if this behavior persists when IE8 Beta is started in No Add-ons mode? In the meanwhile try this,Open IE go to tools >> internet options >> tab programs>>> reset Web Settings >>> tab advance>>> restore Default >>> and make sure you security level in medium Also check these links:http://reviews.cnet.com/browsers/internet-explorer-8-beta/4864-3514_7-33232670.html?messageID=10001328http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/31973735/dead--inactive--unusabl.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949787 Additional Info:http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/ie8_beta2.asphttp://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/33102338/ie-8-beta-2-tab-issues.aspx

Hello, Please understand that we mainly discuss Exchange issues in this forum, in order to get a prompt and exact answer, I suggest writing a post on the Vista forums: http://forums.microsoft.com/technet/default.aspx?forumgroupid=204&siteID=17 Thanks, Elvis

Elvis, Thank you for that, I am new to these forums and was unsure as to where to post the question!

I tried resetting the web settings, and this solved the problem, but only the first time I opened IE. What I did find was running it as Administrator solved the problem permanently. However when I did this, Hotmail was slow to respond, very strange. Thank you for the links, they were very useful! At least I know I'm not the only person with this problem.

Glad to know that at least with an administrator account you are able to access IE without any issues. Now please follow the instructions given by Elvis and post the query for hotmail under appropriate section as we deal only with Exchange Server issue. http://forums.microsoft.com/technet/default.aspx?forumgroupid=204&siteID=17I am sure that someone would be able to help you with the hotmail issue.
