One inbox for two different Login IDs in Exchange Server 2003
Hello everyone. I am new to Exchange Server and looking forward to get answer of one query. Is it possible to get one inbox against two different Login Ids in Outlook Express. like i have two ids joe@example.com & john@example.com, I want to know can these two ids have same account which has same inbox, calendar and other stuff. This feature is available in yahoo mail. just checking that Exchange Server 2003 allows that feature or not. Thanks for your considerationAhmed Bilal

Account = mailbox. Therefore you can only have one mailbox per user account. Furthermore, you can have as many email addresses as you like, but only one is default and used for outbound email. You therefore have two choices. 1. Two accounts, and use the from field in Outlook. 2. Use an SMTP/POP3 client like Outlook Express. However that will basically throw away all the features of Exchange. Outlook Express is not an Exchange client, Outlook is. They are different products. I wouldn't compare what Yahoo Mail (free) does compared to Exchange (not free). I wouldn't run business email through Yahoo! Unless you are using Outlook 2010 and have both accounts configured in Outlook, there is no "list". You have to select the account from the GAL or type it in. There is nothing like the drop down list that you see in Outlook Express. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

Simon, I agree with your posts except for one, unless you are using Outlook 2010 and have both accounts configured in Outlook, there is no "list” Do you mean that there’s no list for previous outlook version?James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

As far as I remember, the drop down list for the From field when using native Exchange accounts is new for Outlook 2010. For the older versions you have to manually complete the From field, either by typing the address in, choosing it from the GAL or allowing the autocomplete/nicknames file to complete the address for you. The only way you get the list in older versions of Outlook was to use POP3 account configurations, but that brings in other issues.
