One Exchange with one AD with multiple domains and multiple mailboxes- possible?
The solution I am looking for is different than what exist in other similar questions. I want to have one exchange server that can handle two (or more domains) for example abc.com and xyz.comI have one AD, so users will have accounts in both domains- for example: user1@abc.com and user1@xyz.com I want, for compliance reasons, to have two different mailbox stores- one for each domain so that mails do not get intermixedI want the users to have in their outlook two different mailboxes- each with its own sent items, deleted items, drafts, etc... Can this be done? If yes- can you please point me to documentation on how to do this?

you can have 1 Exchange organization per AD forest which can include as many domains as AD will handle. Yes the rest of your questions can be done easily however, I recommend working with someone that has Exchange design experience to ensure your deployment will be successful and not cause any issues. below are some reference articles: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995902.aspx - Planning http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351084 - Deploying http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17206 - Install Guides Templates Yes it's easy to just slap an Exchange server up and get it to work. But to ensure proper operation, performance, and functionality there are a lot of different considerations that should be evaluated prior to completing the design. Chris Morgan
