I've seen other posts on this topic, but solutions provided didn't work for me. I finally realized the pattern/connection after months of frustration so thought I'd share for others in the same boat.

Action:

• In an Outlook calendar item, click the OneNote button in the ribbon to create a linked notes page
• In OneNote, select Meeting Details and pick a meeting to create a linked notes page

Result:

• For certain meetings OneNote crashes immediately and consistently

Pattern:

• I finally noticed this always and only happens on Outlook calendar items that have a virtual meeting hyperlink in the Notes. In my case, it's often a Lync meeting URL inserted through Lync/Outlook integration.

I have no solution, other than not using the OneNote feature for online meetings. I hope this information is helpful for other users in the same boat.
