OneDrive for Business Sharing Folders & Files
So we have Office 365 Midsize Business version. Everyone of our users has their OneDrive for Business App installed on their desktop and their iPad. Is there anyway to share folders and files with people so that everyone can see what it shared inside the
Desktop App and iPad. We switched from Google Apps to Office 365 and google apps had this ability but it does not look like OneDrive does? The only way we can see shared folders is by logging into Outlook.Office365 and going to the One Drive section.
We do have sharepoint with this subscription but it does not seem like you sync a SharePoint TeamSite to the iPad App for OneDrive for business.
Does anyone have a solution to this? Is it even currently possible? Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thank You
Joe

Thanks for the response. Sharing folders was not the issue. As we have always none how to do that. It all has to do with the limitation of seeing the shared folders and files in the Desktop App and Mobile Apps

Hi,
I would say it's a limitation on these apps so far, but be assured Microsoft treasures users' feedback, our product team will keep improving the products to make them easier and better for our users.
Let's look forward to the future versions.

Melon,
I was hoping that - in the 3 months that passed since your latest reply - something changed on this?
I have users using Dropbox in my company and want to move them to OnceDrive for Business but I must have the ability to:
1. Share a folder with an entire team
2. Said team needs to be able to keep an offline copy on their tablet / mobile device
Thanks,
Pablo

Nothing has changed as far as I know. The last time I spoke to someone at Microsoft, they said the only way I would even be close to accomplishing what I wanted to accomplish was by using Team SharePoint. But that's not the same thing exactly. Our clients
were kind of annoyed about this because they came from google apps and were able to do this with google drive but they seemed to have just dropped as I was able to give them a couple work arounds such as putting web shortcut on the homescreen of their
devices that takes them right to the web page for their one drive for business which is where they can see shared with me files.

@JDCCC - thanks; that's what I thought.
This being the case, then, there is really no compelling reason to ditch Dropbox.
Very disappointing. Let's see if someone from Microsoft chimes in here with more encouraging news.

It's been another two months since the last comment. Apparently, our "treasured feedback" is valued but the "treasured fix" is slow in coming.
I too am about to lose a client over this.
Looks like they will be transitioning back to google docs.
Very disappointing.

I know its very frustrating. Our client has been having some issues lately too when the little work around shortcut I gave them. So I am pretty sure hes going to start complaining about this again.

I too would like to see this. It would be nice if users could see folders that someone else has shared with them inside the one drive for business desktop app.
come MS, get on the ball.
Thanks

It would be more than 'nice' if users could see folders that have been shared with them in OneDrive for Biz apps... it would be FUNCTIONAL! Between incompatible, unusable tenant names in SharePoint 365, continuous 'service degraded' conditions and
horrific support I am about ready to ditch the entire Office 365/Cloud line of garbage.
I think it's high time that the professional IT community starts taking back control. Seriously, was it really that hard to run Exchange, SharePoint, DropBox in-house?
I'd like to hear some other thoughts on this. Comments?

right there with you man. We switched one of our clients of google apps in favor of office 365 because of so many issues with google apps stupid sync plugin for outlook. But now I am starting to miss google apps because goggle drive is so much better than
one drive.

Our short experience with office 365 cloud apps has been the worst so far.
There's no MAC OSX's One drive for Business App, you can't sync files shared with you on mobile apps, even you can't move a file that's placed on a folder to another via One Drive web app.
The only thing that justify this service is classic Office Apps (Word, Excel..)
I really, really miss Google Apps.

I am at a loss as to how Microsoft handle upgrades. So far, OneDrive for Business app feels almost as an afterthought or a marketing gimmick. It is nowhere close to what competitors offer and too long has it been since our beloved support
team have promised a solution by sending feedbacks. I will have to keep my portfolio open for Google Apps for the next time I subscribe.
Microsoft support team, please find a way to communicate all these complaints to the right people; if you cannot, then I would like to know who can I contact that has enough authority to make proper changes. OneDrive for Business app is
of little to no use as of this moment, and as of now we do not use it for that same reason. The web version is slow and hardly a good alternative and one that we do not always want employees to have access to. Please help me make OneDrive for Business
a feasible solution for our workers and everyone else that would like to use it.

Is anyone still following this thread?
I think there have been new mobile app updates to onedrive. I think there is now mac onedrive for business.
It would be great to get off google drive.
BUT, can you share a folder in onedrive/onedrive for business AND see it on other team members desktop/mobile apps?
I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Would just like to see that answer plainly in writing. And if so, and if not too much to ask, WHEN will this function come to onedrive??

I still look on this from time to time. I haven't tested it lately but i still don't think they have enabled this sharing folders feature in One Drive for Business. Whenever i ask about it, i keep getting directed to use a Sharepoint/Team site but they
don't work seamlessly inside the mobile one drive for business apps.
