Im installing Exchange 2007 in a test lab. 1. HUB.CAS completed.2. Have confirmed all network settings ok>AD ok3. Have just run set-up and gets to final stage>fails because -Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Exchange 2007 Service MSExchange TransportLog Search failed1. Service is set to automatic but wont start on reboot or manual.Any ideas please((Its a simple install in a clean lab so i wouldnt expect to have any issues - i.e nothing out of norm))

Run Setup.com /prepareAD and try again, it worked for me when i faced this issue.

Tried AD extensions are confirmed via ADSIedit and looks good. Not sure on why running this again would resolve issue?Note CAS and HUB are installed successfully.

I too dint dig much into this issue but did the same to come out, well lets wait and see what answers does our forum users give.
