Hello All, I recently installed Exchange 2010 on Server 2008 R2 and there seems to be an issue downloading the OAB on client workstations. When I attempt to download the OAB manually I get the following error: Task 'email address' reported error (0x80070422): 'Unknown Error 0x80070422' I also have the following 2 events in my event viewer on the Exchange server: Log Name: Application Source: MSExchangeSA Date: 24/01/2011 5:05:46 AM Event ID: 9402 Task Category: (13) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: EX2K10MAIN.sd87.bc.ca Description: OABGen failed to read objectGuid attribute from OAB object '/o=SD87 Exchange/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address Book' in Active Directory. Unfortunately I can't speak any Turkish so I'm out of luck on that one. Any other thoughts guys? I have verified that those 2 errors appear in Event Viewer when I attempt to update the OAB. The EMC and EMS both completed the operation successfully however.

Hi, For this issue, please first ensure the Authenticated Users have the download permission for the Default Offline Address Book. You could use the ADSI Edit tool to check that object. Moreover, the Authenticated Users also have the permissions of Read and Open address list for the Default Global Address List. If the issue persists, please go on trying the following suggestions: Using ADSIEdit: 1. Navigate to the ‘Default Global Address List’ object CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=local 2. Go to the properties of the ‘Default Global Address List’ object 3. Copy the distinguishedName attribute of the ‘Default Global Address List’. It should look similar to the one below. CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=local 4. Navigate to the ‘Microsoft Exchange’ container. CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=Domain,DC=local 5. Go to properties of the ‘Microsoft Exchange’ container 6. Select the GlobalAddressList attribute and click Edit. 7. Paste in the distinguishedName attribute of the ‘Default Global Address List’ and click Add 8. Click OK twice to close out of the properties. 9. Replicate domain controllers 10. Rebuild the OAB again What's going on? AllenAllen Song

I apologize for unmarking but this did not solve my issue. I have not been able to get a solution from these forums and have opened a ticket with Microsoft support. When/if I get a solution I'll post it so please don't mark for me, otherwise you're giving other users the wrong answer which I assure you is very frustrating.
