Office Update Location verification

We were originally updating from the Microsoft site but now want to start using an internal share.

I have configured the policy but want to verify that the internal share path is being used.

What log file would I check for this?

Hi willbar,

Based on your description, you have changed the path of update, and you wonder to check if this path is being used? Could you tell me which version of Office are you using?

And I wonder to know how did you modify GPO and which policy did you modify? Did you use any manager tool to manage the updates.

I need more information about your issue, please be a bit more precise explain your issue so that I can get more accurate solutions to this problem. Im glad to help and follow up your reply.

Hi willbar,

I suggest you use wuauclt.exe /detectnow Command-line to automatic updates right away in client computer. As I said above you can check the WindowsUpdate.log to get your requirement.

Please Note: these steps you need to work in a client computer.

Office 2013 ProPlus CTR is not updated using SCCM. Im only using SCCM to set the registry keys for the policies which control the updatepath.  I was just wondering if there was a log file that would show from where the updates were being pulled from to verify that it is being pulled from a local server and not the cloud.

The version of Office is Office 2013 ProPlus CTR.

We are using DFS Shares for the source.

I am using SCCM to send a package to the PCs to set the registry key value for updatepath at HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\common\OfficeUpdate
