Office Home and Student 2013 on Windows 8.1

I bought the above software for a new laptop from a company called Information Technology Clear Limited. I downloaded it using the key they sent me. To start with it worked on and off, opening some documents, not others, then telling me it couldn't save the documents that I had amended, giving me 'open elsewhere' messages, then saving them after I kept trying.

Then it reached a point where it wouldn't open anything, even to get a new blank document.

I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it twice. Still not working.

Anyone know what the problem is or will I just have to resort to using my old laptop for paperwork?

Hi,

By "open elsewhere", is the document shared via network? If so, there may be other users who are working on it at the same time so you can't save your changes on it.

As I'm not sure about the exact error message, please provide more details about this issue, such as what the exact error message is, and some screenshots will be preferred.

Please also make sure the Office is already activated.

Thanks Melon

It's on a private computer so not shared anywhere and definitely closed on my old machine.

I've now uninstalled it again - do you recommend I download the OffCAT tool before reloading Office or afterwards?

As I've uninstalled it I can't give you a screenshot of the message but it says something along the lines of 'Office cannot be opened at this time and Microsoft is checking for a solution'. And then it says something else along the lines of 'a solution cannot be found, close program'. That's not correct word for word but is the general tone.

Thanks, L
