Hi,

How long have you been runing this Office 2013 instance on your machine? Is this a recently happened issue, or actually none Office updates have ever been received on this machine?

Updates for MSI (non-Click-To-Run) version of Office will be offered via Windows Update. But please note that, by default Windows Update only updates Windows itself.

In order to get updates for Office and other Microsoft products as well, youll have to update your Windows Update to Microsoft Update. So, please have a check on this, you can visit this Microsoft site which works for all versions of Windows.

Also, maybe automatic updating is turned on. Here is a collection of all released Office updates, you can have a check, compare it with your update history list and see whether they've been installed or not.

Review your update history: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\View update history.

Hi Ethan

Thanks for your response,

I have been running this instance of Office 2013 Pro Plus SP1 for quite sometime now. I downloaded the Media ISO file from my MCT MSDN Subscriptions and have installed on two of my computers using this same media. On one of my PC's updates seem to have come properly i even received the recently rolled out update for Skype for Business via windows update for this PC. However even though it updated fine im having problems activating office on this PC but that i will post on a different thread.

I will try out your suggestions and see if it helps and post back here with an update

Im still uncertain about how to change from Windows updates to Microsoft updates as i still do not see any clear instructions on doing so

Hi Aaqib,

If above Microsoft site doesn't work for you, another way to do it would be to launch Windows Update like you normally do, click the "Change setting link on the left, then select the option of "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows.":

Hope this helps.

Hi,

For Windiws 7 Ultimate, seems the option looks a little bit difference:

"Give me updates for Microsoft products and check for new optional Microsoft software when I update Windows."

Please have a check and see if you can find this option on Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\Change settings.
