Office 2013 - People Search bug

Good afternoon,

I am using Outlook 2013, and I am having a problem with the "People Search" box at the Home Tab. Some contacts that have linked sources of information only display what is not at the "Outlook (Contacts)" folder.

Let me give you one example.

Fernanda L. is a contact with three different sources: Outlook (Contacts), LinkedIn and Facebook. When I search her from the Instant Search box within the "People" session of Outlook, all her sources display perfectly. However, when I search her from the People Search box, she shows off, but only two sources (LinkedIn and Facebook) are shown, and her information from Outlook (such as her phone number) is NOT displayed.

This happens with several of my contacts.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Carlos

Hi,

Please open the Address Book by clicking Address Book button under the Search People box. Click Tools on the menu bar:

In the Addressing window, select Start with contact folders or Custom, click OK, and then test the issue.

In addition, Outlook 2013 may have linked contacts for one people with several contacts. Just like the following image:

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Steve. After following your suggestion, closing and reopening Outlook, it worked.

My suggestion to Microsoft: please show all linked contacts when opening the card at the People Search box. Otherwise, we come to the conclusion that those displayed are the only ones available to that contact. Notice that, since those contacts are linked, the others that are not displayed at the card do not appear at the search list from the box either, giving the impression that they do not exist.

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Thank you for your update and the suggestions to Microsoft.

Linking multiple contacts for one person lets you view all their information on one card. You can choose a contact to unlink it, or you can choose another contact to link.

To do this, just click Link Contacts here:

You can unlink a contact by clicking on the delete icon or link another contact by the Find a contact to link box.
